An economics graduate from the London School of Economics, Salvatore Accame has held top level positions in Italy and abroad, in companies like Montedison, Innocenti Santeustacchio and Siderexport, a company in the Finsider Group. Between 1973 and 1981 he was based in Hong Kong as Director of the Far East Region for the IRI Group, in which he also held the post of Managing Director for Asia. From 1981 to 1990 he headed Tokyo operations for the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro.

Salvatore Accame returned to Italy in 1990, and until 1993 held the position of Joint-Director of general operations at BNL's head offices in Milan, with a variety of responsibilities. He also held the role of Director of Foreign Marketing Operations for BNL Eurosecurities Sim in Milan and acted as interim manager of the Management Analysis and Control area. He has been working on behalf of Contract Manager srl assignments of temporary management in International Marketing, in particulary in China, from 1996 to 2005.

In 2005 he established in Shanghai Marco Polo Integrated Services Co., Ltd. with the business cope to assist the Italian companies to penetrate the Chinese market and to help Chinese companies in several majors acquisitions, transactions in Italy. At present he is a Member of the restricted Core Team Contract Manager and he is involved in International Affairs and problem solving in Asia, South America and Russia.
