Optimization of production

To compete in world markets you need to develop a production and logistics system that exploits the potential offered by the so called “Producing Countries”. You also need modern transport systems and IT technology that allows production and logistic processes to be monitored at long distance, even from thousands of kilometres away. Production in itself is not a problem and sometimes production in the home country is not a crucial success factor. It depends on the business and the competition you have to face.

To beat the competition on quality and value for money, a company must move very fast and exploit the potential available. Nowadays customers in all sectors demand better quality in a shorter time and at lower cost. Hence the need for a constant, systematic, team- driven effort to optimize all stages of the entire supply chain. In other words it has to involve all the players in the process, internal or external, and should be the product of thorough research of all the business practices provided by the various players. These range from procurement, organized as far as possible on a global level, to production, whether internal or outsourced in Italy or abroad, to stock management handled within the company or outsourced, to transport, now usually handled by specialists, and to quality and safety.

We have undertaken various assignments to optimize plant efficiency, close down and transfer production units abroad, organize purchasing on a national scale using global sourcing methods and reorganize the warehousing cycle and despatch system. We have done this for machine, plant equipment, mechanical, electric and electronic component manufacturers, for both Italian and multinational companies operating in the European market.

The duration of assignments in this area varies according to the breadth of the undertaking – from six months to two years.
